A much better day

What a difference a day can made!

Nathan slept like a rock all night long and woke up happy and ready for the day. I was able to peel off his 4 layers of pants, but the sweater cannot come off..... yet. He did let us put on clean socks but kept his own shoes. That's a big accomplishment.

Today, we finalized the adoption in China's eyes! We applied for his passport, visited the orphanage (couldn't not go in) and the place where he was abandoned which was at a bridge on Yintze Park shown on the photo above. He followed everything on the agenda and did very well. He still has a big appetite and just eats about everything. He says thank you (sign language) and asked for things by name or pointing out. He can talk a lot, so bad we can't understand. After dinner, I encourage myself and took off his sweater and t-shirt and he did not resist. We put them both on the tub for a quick shower. He didn't know what to do at first then I gave him a few sprinkles of water and an empty water bottle, a cloth and a toothbrush to play with. He took it all, then ask for soap to wash the face cloth. I tried to make him sit on the tub so he won't slip and he won't do it. Just squat style, very busy with his toys. He kept filling up the bottle with water and dumping on top of his sisters head which she was not happy. He kept laughing and splashing. We wrapped them in towels and put lotion on them. He knew what to do with the lotion and rubbed it all over his face and legs. Then, he discover the joy of jumping on the bed! He will do one jump then crack himself up with belly laughs. He also knew how to brush his teeth. He pull the glass of water to his mouth and I thought he wanted to drink it but he knew how to rinse up then spit the water out. Then movie time came and they watch Kai Lan on DVD. He loves to repeat what Kai Lan said and has been like a "parrot" repeating hello, bye bye, thank you, etc. They told us that we was very spoiled by his foster grandparents and an older brother. They sent his to us with 2 full bags of goodies like bananas, candy, crackers and all kinds of snacks. He loves to eat meat and bread and of course bananas! He sure was loved deeply and very very much.

Emily is doing great and she calls him "hey baby, you want to eat a banana? So cute and she likes to hold his hands when we walked. Pressing the buttons on the elevator is a new game too.

So far, he had a very good day and so did we!

I'm laughing a bit to myself as I envision the bath tub. Oh how I relate to a little brother dumping water on a sister's head...
